The No. 18 Ole Miss men’s tennis team will have a decidedly Swedish flavor to its roster this spring.Not that Swedish Rebels are anything new, but this spring Ole Miss will benefit from having newcomer Johan Backstrom, and familiar face Kalle Norberg on the team.
They’re two additions that Billy Chadwick, Ole Miss’ head coach and recent Mississippi Tennis Hall of Fame inductee, hope will make their presences felt as immediately as this Saturday when the Rebels host Southern Miss at the Gillom Center.
For Norberg, the 2009 Southeastern Conference Tournament MVP, this weekend has been a long time coming considering he has not played since the 2009 season (with the exception of one match this past fall). (January 21, 2011, Page 6A)
