Lafayette and Oxford School District announced it will be closed Tuesday due to weather as did University of Mississippi. A decision will be made on Wednesday at a later time. Regents of Oxford will also be closed.
The Lafayette County and Oxford School Districts will be closed Monday due to the weather. Oxford University School and Regents School of Oxford will also be closed.
Lafayette High School was to be presented with the Army National Guard national ranking trophy as part of the sixth annual MaxPreps Tour of Champions. The event will be rescheduled.
Lafayette Middle School auditorium was also holding a meeting on Monday for parents to discuss block scheduling at 5:30 p.m. but will be rescheduled.
The Oxford School District special board meeting at 5 p.m. has been postponed. A new date will be rescheduled soon.
The JD Williams Library on the campus of the University of Mississippi closed Sunday afternoon due to weather. The Oxford, Tupelo, DeSoto, Booneville, and Grenada campuses are closed and classes at these locations are canceled Monday.
All Northwest Mississippi Community College campuses will be closed Monday.

— The Oxford Planning Commission meeting set for Monday has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday.
— Monday’s Oxford-Lafayette County Chamber of Commerce’s Eggs and Issues Breakfast has been canceled due to the weather. The event will be rescheduled for another date. Please watch your e-mails for the new date.
— First Baptist Church and preschool is closed Monday.
— Yoknapatawpha Arts Council and Powerhouse Community Arts Center is closed today. Dance classes scheduled for today will be rescheduled.
— Oxford and Lafayette County Solid Waste will be picked up tomorrow pending potential freezing sleet.
— Oxford University Transit is currently running but will close at 3 p.m. and a call for Tuesday will be made in the morning.
— More than a Meal organizational meeting originally scheduled for this evening at the Stone Center on Washington Avenue has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. next Monday, Jan. 17. All groups that have served and are interested in hearing more info and how to get involved attend this meeting. Also, due to the Stone Center being used as a polling place for Tuesday’s special election, the free More Than a Meal this week will be served in the Oxford Park Commission’s Activity Building’s multi-purpose room instead of the Stone Center.
