A late surge by Mississippi State coupled with the inability to make shots at the most critical stages of the game cost the Ole Miss Rebels dearly in their Southeastern Conference home opener Thursday night.Led by the outstanding play of guard Dee Bost and forward Renardo Sidney, the Bulldogs overcame a seven-point deficit in the second half to pull out a 69-64 win over the Rebels and a crowd of 8,407 at C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum.
Bost finished with 25 points and eight assists for MSU (9-7 overall, 1-1 in the SEC), while Sidney contributed 24 points and five rebounds in a win that dropped the Rebels to 12-5 and 0-2 in the league. (January 14, 2011, Page 6A)
