BLOG: Lady Rebs fall in OT to South Carolina

After falling behind by 12 early, the Ole Miss women rallied to eventually take a lead but in the end it wasn’t enough as South Carolina topped the Lady Rebels 63-58 in overtime today at the C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum.

Ole Miss had a few chances to take the lead for good at the end of regulation but came came up empty, sending the game into a five-minute overtime.

In overtime, after going ahead 58-57, South Carolina went on a 6-0 run to end game.

Iesia Walker led South Carolina with 21 points, while Kayla Melson and Valencia McFarland each chipped in 21 and 15 points respectively for Ole Miss.

Ole Miss will return to action this week with back-to-back road games at LSU and Arkansas on Thursday and Sunday before returning home on Jan. 27 to host Kentucky. (January 16, 2011)
