Billups has options, still searching for right fit

This weekend’s trip to Lafayette, La., was a good mix of business and pleasure for the Oxford Chargers’ Guy Cameron Billups, DeShaun McNeal and Larry Pettis.Pettis and McNeal, both verbal pledges of Louisiana-Lafayette, took the six-hour trek south to checkout the Ragin’ Cajuns’ campus for the first time.

Billups, on the other hand, made the trip in hopes of getting an official scholarship offer.

Despite passing for 2,944 yards and 33 touchdowns his senior season, the 6-foot-2, 180-pound quarterback is still in search of his first commitable offer.

While Billups did not get an offer this weekend, he did receive some good news. (January 17, 2011, Page 6)
