Aberdeen’s Earnest Williams scored 22 points to help lead the Bulldogs to a 58-39 win over Water Valley Tuesday night in the WVHS gym. Fred McGee led the Blue Devils (12-6 overall, 1-1 in District 2-3A play) with 18 points. Coach John Sherman said he thought his team defended well at times and was able to slow Aberdeen, but Williams’ ability to shoot in critical situtations proved to be too much to overcome. Sherman said he was also proud of the way his team competed. Water Valley will be back in action Friday at Mooreville. (January 19, 2011, Page 7)
