The Water Valley seventh- and eighth-grade boys basketball teams split a pair of games with Pope Thursday night in Water Valley. The seventh-graders lost 22-20, while the eighth-graders won 22-11.
Makedrius Gooch led Water Valley with six points, while Ty Folson chipped in four points. The Blue Devils led 7-4 at the half. Skyler Defer led the eighth-grade Blue Devils (3-4) with eight points.
Dee McNeal added seven.
Water Valley will be off for Christmas and return to action Jan. 6 at Charleston. (December 10, 2010, Page 8A)
