The Oxford Lions Club Christmas Parade will roll through the community beginning at 7 this evening. This year’s parade has the theme, “The Sounds of Christmas.” This year’s event will feature the Lafayette and Oxford high school bands joining with the Ole Miss “Pride of the South” band to form one giant combined marching band. Also, all the players on the Lafayette High School Commodores football team, fresh from winning Saturday’s state championship game, will be in the parade.
Parade participants will line up at 6 this evening at the Mid-Town Shopping Center on North Lamar Boulevard. The parade will move south down North Lamar, go through the Square and continue down South Lamar Boulevard to University Avenue, where the parade will turn west and continue to the Lyceum Circle on the campus of the University of Mississippi.
