SPORTS EDITOR BLOG — The Ole Miss basketball teams are getting into the spirt of Christmas and the upcoming New Year as well as trying to increase attendance at games over next month with the introduction of some special offers.Fans who attend the Rebels’ Monday home game against Mississippi Valley State or the Dec. 18 home game against ETSU can get in free by simply bringing a toy for a child or just getting in the car and driving to the ‘Tad Pad.’ The Panola Kappa League and Lets Talk it Out Foundation are collecting toys for the Toys for Tots program at Monday’s game and one toy is good for one admittance. Ole Miss faculty/staff members, and up to three guests, will also be given free admittance with the use of a valid photo ID.
The following home men’s game on Dec. 18 will be free of charge as part of Rebel Basketball’s Fan Appreciation Day. This also includes free parking around the coliseum.
The Ole Miss women are offering free admittance to fans on Wednesday against MVSU and Dec. 21 when it hosts Miami. Fans will have to bring a can of food with them to Wednesday’s game to get in free. Other promotions later in the month includes two free tickets to the men’s game on Dec. 30 with certain purchases, while the women-men doubleheader on Jan. 2 will be another local business ticket special.
