Ole Miss gained more than wins from trip to Hawaii

Last week’s trip to Hawaii meant more than just an excuse to visit paradise while temperatures fluctuated between 30 and 60 degrees in Oxford for the Ole Miss women’s hoops squad.

It meant more than the two wins in three games that the Lady Rebels earned.

Head coach Renee Ladner is hoping that the team’s trip to the 50th state will yield season-long — even career-long — results in the form of confidence, continuity and team chemistry.

During their time in Honolulu, at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Rainbow Wahine Showdown, the women won a last-second game against Gonzaga 53-52, lost a frustrating game to Hawaii 64-57 and knocked off Illinois 70-61. (December 3, 2010, Page 8A)
