LHS looking to make school history

A second chance to make up for last season’s loss to St. Stanislaus in the Class 4A state title game is what the No. 1 Lafayette Commodores are hoping to accomplish Saturday against North Pike at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium.

With the goal of returning to Jackson achieved with last Friday’s win over Noxubee County, the Commodores (15-0 overall) are just one win away from winning their first title in school history and completely getting over last year’s bitter defeat.

From LHS coach Anthony Hart’s standpoint, last year’s 35-16 loss to St. Stanislaus taught his players a lesson about accomplishing things the first time. (December 3, 2010, Page 8A)
