Board OKs Sunday alcohol sales

While the Board of Aldermen approved Sunday alcohol sales for on-premise permit holders on Tuesday, supporters should wait to pop the cork to celebrate until Mayor Pat Patterson decides if he will veto the issue. If he does not, than the city must wait for state approval. The board also heard the first reading of an ordinance amendment allowing Sunday off-premise sales from noon to 6 p.m. which means beer and light wine could be sold at convenience stores. The mayor promised to veto the issue if passed. (December 8, 2010, Page 1)

Please Veto this Mayor Patterson!! We won’t want our town going down this path. This town needs a break from its sinful nights!

    2. Bob says:

Please do not veto. How can you justify selling it the other 6 days of the week and the 7th day say that it is wrong. This is hypocrisy!

    3. Clark says:

There is nothing wrong with sales from noon to 12 on a sunday. Dont see it being a problem anywhere else? Most people arent going to be likely to go out and get smashed on a sunday afternoon. Its one of the many freedoms we have left in this country.
