BLOG: Delta Devils downed by Rebels

The Ole Miss men’s basketball squad utilized a 26-point lead late in the first half and cruised to a 101-69 victory over Mississippi Valley State University tonight at the C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum.Ole Miss’ offense was about as balanced as could be, as six players scored in the double-digits.

Senior guard Chris Warren led the Rebels with 18 points, while Terrance Henry, Trevor Gaskins, and 14 and 15 points respectively. Nick Williams, Dundrecous Nelson and Demarco Cox each had 10 points.

Depth players Will Bogan and Donald Williams saw their most action of the season, registering 14 and seven minutes respectively.

“We got a lot of guys minutes, which was a good thing,” Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy said. “Guys that don’t normally get an opportunity to play played, and I thought they played well.”

All 11 Rebels that stepped foot on the court registered at least two points.

Ole Miss (6-2 overall) never trailed in the game.

Ole Miss will return to action on Saturday, hosting East Tennessee State University at 3 p.m.

With school not in session, Kennedy said his players will be hitting the hardwood a lot.
