Gaskins’ big night leads Rebels past Penn State

Ole Miss senior Trevor Gaskins had a career-high 24 points courtesy of 6 of 11 shooting from behind the 3-point line to help the Rebels top Penn State 84-71.After trailing 5-4 early in the contest, the Rebels took the lead on a Chris Warren 3-pointer and never relinquished it.

Rounding out Ole Miss’ scoring leaders were Chris Warren (20), Nick Williams (15) and Terrance Henry (13).

After injuring his right knee in Ole Miss’ 78-71 overtime loss to Dayton on Nov. 20, sophomore center Reginald Buckner returned to the hardwood for the Rebels.

Buckner finished with four rebounds, two points, two assists and five blocks in five minutes.

Ole Miss will return to the hardwood on Tuesday, playing at Miami (Fla.). The 6 p.m. CT tip will be televised on FSN. (November 26, 2010)
