Senatobia no match for Dennis, LHS

The Lafayette Commodores steamed through the Warriors of Senatobia 54-7 Friday night as the Commodore ground game accounting for 264 yards and six touchdowns.Demarkus Dennis again displayed why he is a junior many people should keep  an eye on. Dennis carried the ball 20 times for 156 yards rushing and four touchdowns. Dennis ability to break tackles and accelerate past Warrior defenders awed many spectators.

With 2:40 left in the first quarter, the Warriors and Commodores were scoreless. The Warrior offense elected to punt the ball to Anfernee Gooch. Gooch received the ball at the Warrior 37-yard line, juked left, side-stepped right and then tip toed down the sideline for a 37-yard punt return touchdown. The heroic special teams play rejuvenated a quite Commodore crowd and gave the team confidence.

After the first quarter, the Commodores outscored the Warriors 47-0.

NEXT UP: Friday the Commodores will be traveling to Millington, Tennessee to take on the Trojans of Millington High School. The Trojans are in division 6A in the state of Tennessee. The Commodores will need to play mistake free football to come out victorious.
