Pocket park makes progress
Efforts to create a new park near the Garden Terrace subdivision on the west side of town are finally moving forward after more than a year of discussions with the Oxford Park Commission concerning the location of the open space. The neighborhood is working with OPC and the city to transfer the property to the city to begin the development of the park. (October 28, 2010, Page 1)

Chargers host Gentry Rams on Friday night
An opportunity to build on last week’s road success is what the Oxford Chargers hope to do Friday night against Indianola-Gentry.

Blue Devils want to keep things rolling
Water Valley coach Brad Embry said the approach will be the same as it has been all season when his Blue Devils take on Mooreville Friday night.
It will be the regular season finale for the 8-2 Blue Devils who wrapped up the No. 2 seed in Region 2-3A and the upcoming Class 3A playoffs. Embry said there is a chance his team would add some things on offense heading into the playoffs, but he also thinks staying to a successful script that is currently in place is also important. No. 4 Rangers can wrap up title tonight
A chance to wrap up sole possession of the MACJC North Division title and host a playoff game in the first round are the two biggest things the No. 4 Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers can gain tonight.
The Rangers can also end the regular season undefeated with a win over North Division foe Itawamba C.C. at Bobby Franklin Field. Kickoff is set for 6:30 and the game can be heard locally on 93.7 FM. (October 28, 2010, Page 6)
