“H2: Healthy Halloween on the Square” will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center. This family event mixes the celebration of Halloween with arts, crafts and the chance to learn that treats can be healthy. Rebel Body Fitness, Holli's Sweet Tooth, Vegfund and the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council host this activity that encourages families not just to walk on Halloween, but enjoy walking and making healthy choices together every night.
This free event features art, crafts and activities to engage the mind and body from bobbing for apples grown locally on a co-op farm, encouraging kids to play everyday to stay healthy, and use their creativity with crafts from Brilliant Easel Art School and the University Museum.
Several booths will be set up and many special activities will be held, such as giving kids the chance to see if they have the loudest, scariest scream at the scream contest hosted by Children's Dental Center, a magic show by Steve Thomas, and stories from Square Books Jr. and the Oxford Literacy Council. These are just a few of the special activities and booths at H2: Healthy Halloween on the Square.
