Evening of Opera Scenes

The Department of Music Opera Theatre Ensemble presents an evening of opera scenes centered around the classic opera theme of death and tragedy, except with a few twists. This year’s scene program features concert version, semi-staged works from “L'elisir D'Amore,” “Otello,” “Manon Lescaut,” “Tosca,” “Die Zauberflöte,” “Candide” and many more. The program is sure to delight  seasoned music lovers and amateur listeners alike. The scenes are supported by collaborative pianist, Amanda Johnston and directed by Julia Aubrey. The scenes are suitable for a general audience. Dates are Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 7 at 3 p.m. in Nutt Auditorium. Tickets are available through the UM Box Office on-line or by calling 915-7411.
