The Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services, through its Project START division, is hosting a training seminar titled, “Tap into our Knowledge: De-mystifying Workplace Accommodations and Assistive Technology,” at its AbilityWorks facility in Oxford from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday.
This training will provide hands-on demonstrations and answer questions regarding accommodations and assistive technology in the workplace.
Human resource professionals, employers, educators and WIN Job Center staff are invited to learn about the low-cost methods and ideas to improve employment opportunities for Mississippians with disabilities. Three breakout sessions will provide the opportunity to learn information that will dispel the myths regarding accommodations and assistive technology necessary for people with disabilities in the workplace. AbilityWorks, located at 51 County Road 166 in Oxford, will also host an open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the same day, with an Appreciation Ceremony at 11:30 a.m. The public is invited.
