9-11 heroes recalled

Oxford firefighters Randy Jones, Braden Theobald and Matt Tatum climbed 110 stories in remembrance of the 343 firefighters that died when the Twin Towers collapsed.  The men were participants in the inaugural Nashville 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, held at the Pinnacle at Symphony Place building in downtown Nashville, Tenn.

The event was open to the first 343 firefighters who registered. Each one wore a photo of a fallen firefighter as they climbed 30 stories, three and a half times to represent the 110 stories of the Twin Towers. The firefighters also wore full fire-fighting gear. The entire $25 fee went to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The event raised more than $11,000. (October 6, 2010, Page 1)
