WVHS gears up to face dual-threat Vikings

Water Valley’s game against North Pontotoc last year is one the Vikings and the Blue Devils would like to forget — at least for the most part.

Not only was the game played on a rain soaked field that hindered both teams from executing to precision, but the Water Valley Blue Devils roster was also decimated by swine flu.

Even though the Blue Devils lost the game 16-14, due in large part to a safety during the fourth quarter that proved to be the difference, defensive coordinator Richard Russo was able to find positives when looking back at the loss on Wednesday. (September 16, 2010, Page 7)
