LHS Commodores pound Byhalia

Lopsided doesn’t even begin to describe Lafayette’s 52-0 win over Region 2-4A foe Byhalia Friday night. Homecoming was very special for the Commodores as they routed the Indians to improve to 6-0 on the year.

Running back DeMarkus Dennis rushed for 187 yards and four touchdowns in the win, while quarterback Jeremy Liggins went 8-for-15 for 112 yards and three touchdowns. Two of the touchdowns were gathered in by Brandon Mack, who made a diving catch for a score with 2:35 left in the first quarter.

As impressive as the Commodores were on offense, the ‘Dores defense played even better as they held the Indians to negative 13 yards. LHS will be back in action Friday on the road at North Panola. (September 25, 2010)
