This morning’s perusing of various media websites got me thinking: If someone was to build a Mount Rushmore memorializing Ole Miss’ football program, who be the four musts to have their likeness etched in stone? One of my daily stops is Yahoo!’s Puck Daddy Blog (I’m a hockey fan, don’t hold it against me…) and over the course of the past few weeks they have been publishing “Mount Puckmores” for various franchises.
Connect the dots and I got to thinking, which four Ole Miss gridiron legends would deserve that honor the most? On the surface it seems like a relatively easy choice, but is it really? Who would make your mountain? Comment/e-mail me (firstname.lastname@example.org) and let me know your thoughts and later in the week I’ll compile a list.
VAUGHN NO LONGER ON BASEBALL TEAM: Yesterday I was informed by RebelGrove.com’s Chase Parham that outfielder Cliff Vaughn will not be returning to the Ole Miss baseball team this season but will remain a student at the University. As a redshirt sophomore last season, the Houston native batted .286 (2-for-7) and appeared in eight games.
Vaughn’s decision leaves Ole Miss’ roster at 38 players. Programs must get down to 35 players by the start of the spring season. (August 24, 2010)
