Ole Miss gained commitments No. 17 and 18 to its 2011 signing class on Tuesday with the verbal promises of junior college tight end Jamal Mosley and Callaway standout offensive lineman Aaron Morris.
Morris, a 6-foot-5, 310-pound guard, is rated as a 4-star recruit by Rivals.com and was named to the Clarion Ledger’s Dandy Dozen list.
Mosley’s commitment has been a long time coming. After leaving Oklahoma State’s football program, Mosley tried to transfer to Ole Miss in January, but the Rebels did not have a roster spot available.
When that didn’t work out the 6-foot-4, 250-pound Memphis native enrolled at Northwest Mississippi Community College.
When asked about Ole Miss’ success recruiting recruiting Mississippi this year — the Mosley and Morris put the Rebels at eight in-state commitments — Nutt had this to say: “I’m glad you brought that up. It has been really good. I’m just so excited. I’m proud of the ones we’ve got. It started with the ones we have on the field and now I’m real excited to have this many commitments here in August — quality players.”
Morris is also Ole Miss’ third offensive lineman in the class, joining center Ethan Hutson (6-4, 295) of Destrehan, La., and Mitch Hall (6-6, 330) of Russellville, Ark. (August 25, 2010, Page 8)
