Oxford will finally have its say in the on-going debate regarding Sunday alcohol sales. The newly formed Oxford Alcohol Committee wants more feedback from the public and is giving the public two weeks to respond to an online survey. Citizens interested in responding can make their feelings known about Sunday alcohol sales by going to the city website and submitting responses. (August 13, 2010, Page 1)

Sunday sales have nothing to do with religion. This issue is about the right of individuals to make choices. Those who do not want to drink don’t have to – they make their own choices. Those who choose to should have the same prerogative. It’s simply a matter of giving every person the privilege of making his/her own decision. The people, not a few elected officials, should make this decision.
