Oxford Shakespeare Festival’s “A Royal Season” presents Shakespeare’s dramatic masterpiece “Hamlet, Prince of Denmark” opening Saturday at 8 p.m. in the Main Hall of the Ford Center for the Performing Arts. The play will also be staged Sunday at 2 p.m. Shakespeare’s tragedy is the story of a king’s death, a ghost’s revelation, a brother’s ambition, a queen’s passion, and a son’s revenge. Four performances will be staged and the play runs for approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes. The festival continues this week with performances of Shakespeare’s hilarious comedy, “The Merry Wives of Windsor” Saturday at 2 p.m. at Meek Hall Auditorium.
