Legends’ season comes to a close
The 12-and-under Oxford Legends’ season came to an end on Friday, as the traveling baseball team was defeated by the Mississippi Knights 8-2. The loss eliminated the Legends (13-13 overall) from the USSSA State Tournament in Tupelo.
Legends pitchers Christopher Sandroni of Oxford and Parker Caston of Cleveland surrendered just five hits, but six walks and three Oxford errors were too much to overcome.
Bryant King of Bruce had two hits and Dee Fair of Oxford tripled and scored a run for the Legends.
The Legends ended the tournament with a 1-2 record. (June 28, 2010, Page 6)
