Hedglin resigns as Oxford soccer coach

An opportunity for Christopher Hedglin to get closer to his family in Madison has left Oxford High searching for a new girls soccer coach.

Hedglin resigned from his teaching and coaching positions this past Friday so he could take a job at Richland.

Hedglin, who helped lead the Lady Chargers to the North Half title match this past season, grew up in Madison and attended Millsaps College. His family still lives in the Metro Jackson area and the opportunity to teach World and U.S. History opened up rather quickly, which in turn forced him to make a quick decision. (June 10, 2010, Page 6)
