A Youth Fishing Rodeo will be held at the North Mississippi Fish Hatchery and Visitor Education Center at Enid Lake on Saturday. This free event, sponsored by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, is for children ages 15 and younger. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Fishing will continue until 11 a.m. A free hot dog lunch will be served.
The Visitor Education Center pond will be stocked with catfish for this youth activity. Young anglers should bring their own fishing equipment and bait along with a container to take their catch home. Prizes will be awarded for tagged fish.
This event is an ideal way to introduce youngsters to fishing. Adults are encouraged to bring their children, neighbors, and friends for a memorable morning of fishing fun.
