The annual Yoknapatawpha Summer Writer's Workshop
will be held June 18-20 at the Oxford-Ole Miss Depot. A three-day event for writers of all experience levels, it includes workshops, craft talks, readings and social events with several prominent writers. This year's faculty includes best-selling nonfiction writer Neil White ("In The Sanctuary of Outcasts") and publicist Stella Connell (The Connell Agency, New York) along with fiction writers Scott Morris, M.O. Walsh and Sean Ennis.
The workshop offers an opportunity for writers to have their work read and discussed, and to learn the in's and out's of turning an idea into a published work of art. It is also a chance to meet other writers of all ages. The fee for the three days is $325 and includes a dinner at Taylor Grocery. Low lodging rates also available through Ole Miss. Writers are encouraged to submit a 10-15 page writing sample beforehand to be discussed in workshop, but there is no application process.
