The members of the North Mississippi Trail Riders Association will host a free trail ride at 10 a.m. Saturday at the trailhead located on Highway 30 East, about 9.5 miles from Oxford on CR 2073. The Forest Service request participants wear an orange vest during the ride because it is turkey hunting season. Riders should bring a sack lunch and drink. The slow ride will take about four hours while the gaited horse ride will last about 2.5 hours. Overnight camping is available at no charge on a primitive camp site. Association dues are $10 for individuals or $15 for families and are voluntary. Funds are used for trail and restroom maintenance.
