High-scoring affairs highlight play on OPC Opening Day

The Oxford Park Commission’s baseball leagues got off to a successful start on Monday at FNC Park.In the 9-year-old division, the Plein Air Roayals snuck past the Rayner Eye Clinic Phillies 8-6, while the 10-year-old Morgan White Insurance Rays pieced together a six-run third inning to beat theFreeland Shull Attorney’s at Law Red Sox 7-3. In the 11-12 division, the Oxford Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Rays defeated the Chandler Nissan Cardinals 7-3 and the McKesson Royals snuck by the Hunter’s Hollow Inc. Brewers 6-5. Both 13-14 division games featured high-scoring contests as the BancOxford Insurance Services Cubs beat the Hampton Inn Twins 7-4 and the Davis Logistics of Oxford Braves doubled-up on the Rozier Hayes Cardinals 12-6. (May 4, 2010, Page 10)
