Blue Devils get offensive in decisive win

A season built on strong team unity and an aggressive, yet productive approach at the plate paid dividends in spades for the Water Valley Blue Devils in Monday night’s decisive Class 3A North Half title series with Booneville.Water Valley’s Blue Devils overcame a 5-3 deficit in the sixth inning to post a thrilling 7-6 win over Booneville and advance to Pearl for the upcoming MHSAA 3A state championship series against perennial power Sumrall.

WVHS (22-7 overall) returned to Harold T. White Field, the site of the best-of-three game series opener that saw the team drop a 5-4 decision, with one thought in mind, advancing to Trustmark Park for the state title series. (May 18, 2010, Page 8)
