SPORTS EDITOR BLOG—The following information are how the Oxford Chargers and Lady Charger track athletes fared in this past Saturday’s Tupelo Daily Journal Relays held at Tupelo High. First-place finishers appeared in today’s EAGLE on Page 3B.Erika Sisk finished second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.39 seconds. Kristin Dickerson was fourth in the 100 hurdles with a 18.97. Callie Mayo was eighth in the 1,600 run with a time of 6 minutes, 04 seconds and 10th in the 800 with a 2:42. Tom Kendricks was third in the discus with a throw of 131 feet, 11 inches. Robert Vaughn was second in the triple jump with a 41-10, while Deante Smith was third in the triple jump with a 41-01. Vaughn also finished fourth in the high jump with a 6-02 and was 13th in the long jump with a mark of 18-05.
Austin Super was third in the pole vault with a vault of 11-06. Johnathan Redding finished fifth in the 110 hurdles with a 16.39, while Stuart Howorth was sixth with a 16.77. Stan Ivy finished sixth in the 100 with a 11.53, while Jermonda Brassell was ninth with a 11.64. Harrison Dickens was ninth in the 1,600 with a 5:07. Tyler Shaw was second in the 400 with a 50.9. The Chargers’ 4×100 relay team of Stefun Gill, Shaw, Ivy and Brassell finished second with a 43.91.
Robert Brown was ninth in the 300 hurdles with a 46.59. Lucienne Duchaine was seventh in the 3,200 with a 11:04. Harris Brown was 10th in the 200 with a 23.97. Reed Knight finished sixth in the discus with a 122-02. (April 12, 2010)
