Ole Miss’ Lewis, Hardy go in NFL Draft

SPORTS EDITOR BLOG — Safety Kendrick Lewis and defensive end Greg Hardy became the latest Ole Miss Rebels to be selected in the 2010 NFL Draft Saturday.Lewis was drafted in today’s fifth round, No. 136 overall, by the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs drafted Lewis’ Ole Miss teammate, Dexter McCluster, on Friday in the second round.

Hardy, meanwhile, was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the sixth round as the No. 175 pick in this year’s draft. Both Lewis and Hardy become the third and fourth Rebels drafted in this year’s draft, joining McCluster, and John Jerry, who was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the third round Friday. (April 24, 2010)
