National Day of Silence

The National Day of Silence is April 26 and will be presented by the University of Mississippi Gay-Straight Alliance. Tables will be located in the Union on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. this week. GSA is a student organization that provides advocacy and education for individuals in the UM and Oxford communities, as well as works to increase tolerance and respect for individuals of all sexual orientations and identities. GSA will be passing out speaking cards and other information. The National Day of Silence addresses anti-LGBT name-calling, bullying and harassment in schools.

    question, if your standing up for gay rights wouldn’t you speak out rather than be silent? wouldn’t it make for sense to stand up and speak for what you believe in rather then remain silent?
