‘My angel, my lifesaver’

Derald  Connell was known to most as just Pete. Some called him Peter Cotton Tail. To his grandchildren, he was Pa Paw.
Mandy Martin has her own names for the 69-year-old Connell, who was beaten to death April 1.
“He was my angel,” she said. “My lifesaver.” (April 13, 2010, Page 1A)

    1. Brandon Connell says:

This was my Pa Paw Pete and may he rest in piece. I am 15 now but I was 12 when he was murdered. I was very close to my Pa Paw and he was my Gaurdian Angel and he still is. There will never be a day that goes by that he will never be on my mind or in my heart. I loved him and he loved me. He was always there for me when I was growing up and I say a prayer to him every night before I go to bed. All I can say to the 3 men and woman that murdered him is this, how could you take my innocent grandfather from me. I hope you live with the guilt of taking my Pa Paw from me and I hope it causes you pain. I do forgive you though because he always told me to forgive everyone that causes pain to you and you are the people that have caused me pain….
