Funds for Boys and Girls Club slashed

The tight budget approved by state lawmakers this week eliminated a good percentage of Temporary Aid to Needy Families, or TANF, which is currently received through the Mississippi Department of Human Services.

As a result, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Mississippi, which receives grants through the program, may be in even more need of private sector financial assistance. (April 30, 2010, Page 5A)
