Oxford’s depth on both the girls and boys teams was evident Saturday at the annual EAGLE Invitational held at Bobby Holcomb Field.
The Chargers won the boys portion of the meet by totaling 225 points, a figure almost 100 points better than second-place finisher DeSoto Central, who finished with 136 points. The Lady Chargers also won first place by totaling 158 points, which was 70 points more than second-place finisher DeSoto Central.
Lafayette’s boys finished third in the meet with 72.5 points, while the Lady Commodores totaled 62 points, good for a fifth place out of a total of 12 teams. (March 29, 2010, Page 1B)
