A four-game winning streak at the end of the Southeastern Conference regular season, a share of the SEC West title and two strong wins over non conference teams wasn’t enough to place the Ole Miss Rebels in the 2010 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament Sunday evening.
The Rebels failed to make the field of 65 for the eighth straight season despite winning 21 games and playing a schedule that featured road/neutral site games against West Virginia and Villanova, two teams that earned No. 2 seeds in the NCAAs.
Ole Miss is expected to continue its season this week, however, in the National Invitation Tournament. The NIT field will be announced later tonight. (March 14, 2010)
