LHS softball defeats Cleveland

A Spring Break roadtrip to Cleveland resulted in a 5-2 win for the Lafayette Lady Commodores softball team Tuesday. LHS scored three runs in the top of the sixth and then two more runs in the seventh to post the victory.

Stormy Robison led the Lady Commodores with two hits, while Corey Hollis and Kelsey Kesler each drove in a run. Hollis, Rae Drewrey and Cameron Mize each had a hit in the win, with Hollis’ hit being a triple. Kesler earned the complete game win for the Lady Commodores. She finished with eight strikeouts and no walks and scattered five hits in seven innings.

LHS will return to action Tuesday at home against Center Hill, with the JV starting things at 5 p.m. (March 17, 2010, Page 8A)
