Lady Rebels fall in SEC Tournament

A day after Ole Miss outlasted South Carolina in the first round of the Southeastern Conference women’s tournament, the Lady Rebels were eliminated by No. 1 seed Tennessee 76-51 at the Gwinett Center in Duluth, Ga., Friday afternoon.

Ole Miss All-SEC player and All-America candidate Bianca Thomas led the team with 15 points to move into seventh place on the school’s all-time scoring list, but the effort wasn’t good enough to prevent them from losing a third game to the Lady Volunteers this year. While the SEC season has come to an end for coach Renee Ladner and her team, the Lady Rebels still have a chance to be selected for the Women’s NIT. (March 5, 2010)
